Anti-TSEN15 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tRNA splicing endonuclease subunit 15. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 171 amino acid residues and a mass of 18.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the SEN15 protein family, TSEN15 is reported to be a non-catalytic subunit of the tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex, a complex responsible for identification and cleavage of the splice sites in pre-tRNA. The TSEN15 gene has been associated with the disease, Pontocerebellar hypoplasia 2F. Synonyms for this target antigen include TSEN15 tRNA splicing endonuclease subunit, tRNA splicing endonuclease 15 homolog, tRNA-intron endonuclease Sen15, and tRNA-splicing endonuclease subunit Sen15. TSEN15 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the TSEN15 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
