The gene may also be known as NKCC1, BSC, BSC2, PPP1R141, basolateral Na-K-Cl symporter, and bumetanide-sensitive sodium-(potassium)-chloride cotransporter 1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 131.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
