Anti-Xenotropic and polytropic retrovirus receptor 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene XPR1 in humans. The gene may also be known as SYG1, X3, IBGC6, SLC53A1, X-receptor, and protein SYG1 homolog. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 81.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
