Anti-SENP6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SUMO specific peptidase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1112 amino acid residues and a mass of 126.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in reproductive organs, such as testis, ovary and prostate. A member of the Peptidase C48 protein family, SENP6 is a reported protease that deconjugates SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from targeted proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include SUSP1, sentrin-specific protease 6, 2810017C20Rik, SUMO-1-specific protease 1, SUMO1/sentrin specific peptidase 6, and SSP1. SENP6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SENP6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
