Anti-RBP2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein retinol binding protein 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 134 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is reported to be highly expressed in adult small intestine and to a much lesser extent in fetal kidney. A member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family, RBP2 is reported to be an intracellular transport of retinol. Synonyms for this target antigen include CRBP2, CRBPII, RBPC2, CRBP-II, cellular retinol-binding protein II, and CRABP-II. RBP2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the RBP2 antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
