Anti-PCBP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein poly(rC) binding protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 356 amino acid residues and a mass of 37.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. PCBP1 is known to be involved with the regulation of transcription. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HNRPE1, HNRPX, hnRNP-E1, hnRNP-X, alpha-CP1, and HEL-S-85. PCBP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of PCBP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
