Anti-Nerve growth factor antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene NGF in humans. The nerve growth factor protein has a reported amino acid length of 241 and an expected mass of 27 kDa. The protein may also be known as NGFb, Beta-NGF, HSAN5, beta-nerve growth factor, and nerve growth factor (beta polypeptide). Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat. Antibodies to the Nerve growth factor antigen may be useful for studying growth factor signaling.
