Anti-Envoplakin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the EVPL gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2033 amino acid residues and a mass of 231.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell junctions and cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in stratified squamous epithelia. A member of the Plakin or cytolinker protein family, it is a known component of the cornified envelope of keratinocytes. Other names for this target antigen include 210 kDa cornified envelope precursor protein, 210 kDa paraneoplastic pemphigus antigen, and EVPK.
