Anti-XYLB antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein xylulokinase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 536 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.4 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the FGGY kinase protein family, XYLB is known to be involved with carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and protein phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include D-xylulokinase, xylulokinase homolog (H. influenzae), and xylulose kinase. XYLB gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the XYLB antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
