Anti-PKP4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein plakophilin 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1192 amino acid residues and a mass of 131.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in salivary glands. A member of the Beta-catenin protein family, PKP4 is reported to play a role as a regulator of Rho activity during cytokinesis. Synonyms for this target antigen include p0071 and catenin 4. PKP4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PKP4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
