Anti-PCDHA12 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protocadherin alpha 12. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 941 amino acid residues and a mass of 101.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in soft tissue, hippocampus, colon, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. PCDHA12 is known to be involved with cell adhesion and nervous system development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include KIAA0345-like 2 and PCDH-alpha-12. PCDHA12 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chicken species. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the PCDHA12 antibodies listed below. Western Blot and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
