Anti-HMX3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein H6 family homeobox 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 357 amino acid residues and a mass of 37.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the HMX homeobox protein family, HMX3 is a reported transcription factor involved in specification of neuronal cell types and which is required for inner ear and hypothalamus development.
The HMX3 marker can be used to identify Gray Matter Splatter Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include homeo box (H6 family) 3, homeobox (H6 family) 3, homeobox protein H6 family member 3, homeobox protein Nkx-5.1, and homeobox protein HMX3. HMX3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some HMX3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunocytochemistry is also a common application.
