Anti-PDE6C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphodiesterase 6C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 858 amino acid residues and a mass of 99.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is a member of the Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase protein family. The PDE6C gene has been associated with the disease, Cone dystrophy. Synonyms for this target antigen include COD4, PDEA2, cone cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase subunit alpha', cGMP phosphodiesterase 6C, phosphodiesterase 6C, cGMP-specific, cone, alpha prime, and ACHM5. PDE6C gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PDE6C antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
