Anti-MT2A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein metallothionein 2A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 61 amino acid residues and a mass of 6 kDa. It is a member of the Metallothionein protein superfamily. Synonyms for this target antigen include MT-II, MT2, metallothionein-2, metallothionein-II, and MT-2. MT2A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and chimpanzee species. A number of MT2A antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
