Anti-MINPP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein multiple inositol-polyphosphate phosphatase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 487 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in the kidney, liver, cerebellum and placenta. A member of the Histidine acid phosphatase protein family, MINPP1 is known to act as a phosphoinositide 5- and phosphoinositide 6-phosphatase and regulates cellular levels of inositol pentakisphosphate (InsP5) and inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6). Synonyms for this target antigen include MINPP2, MIPP, PCH16, 2,3-BPG phosphatase, 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate 3-phosphatase, and HIPER1. MINPP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MINPP1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
