Anti-TEX12 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein testis expressed 12. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 123 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the chromosomes. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. TEX12 is a known component of the transverse central element of synaptonemal complexes (SCS), formed between homologous chromosomes during meiotic prophase (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include testis-expressed protein 12 and testis expressed sequence 12. TEX12 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TEX12 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
