Anti-MYLK3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein myosin light chain kinase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 819 amino acid residues and a mass of 88.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle. A member of the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family, MYLK3 is a reported kinase that phosphorylates MYL2 in vitro. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include cardiac-MLCK, cardiac-MyBP-C associated Ca/CaM kinase, putative myosin light chain kinase 3, and MLC kinase. MYLK3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of MYLK3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
