Anti-PFDN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein prefoldin subunit 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 122 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.2 kDa. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Prefoldin subunit beta protein family, PFDN1 is known to bind specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. Synonyms for this target antigen include PFD1, prefoldin 1, and PDF. PFDN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PFDN1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
