The gene may also be known as 3PK, MAPKAP-K3, MAPKAP3, MAPKAPK-3, MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 3, and MAPKAP kinase 3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 43 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
