Anti-PIGB antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 554 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. It is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 22 protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The PIGB gene has been associated with the disease, Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy. Synonyms for this target antigen include EIEE80, GPI-MT-III, GPI mannosyltransferase 3, GPI mannosyltransferase III, dol-P-Man dependent GPI mannosyltransferase, and DEE80. PIGB gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PIGB antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
