Anti-dCMP deaminase antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DCTD gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 178 amino acid residues and a mass of 20 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase protein family, it is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Other names for this target antigen include deoxycytidylate deaminase. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some dCMP deaminase antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
