Anti-CEP57 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein centrosomal protein 57. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 500 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Translokin protein family, CEP57 is reported to be a centrosomal protein, which may be required for microtubule attachment to centrosomes. Synonyms for this target antigen include PIG8, TSP57, centrosomal protein of 57 kDa, FGF2-interacting protein, centrosomal protein 57kDa, and MVA2. CEP57 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of CEP57 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
