The gene may also be known as CATL1, CPT1-B, CPT1P, CPTI-B, carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, brain isoform, and carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase I, brain isoform. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 91 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
