Anti-Chloride intracellular channel 5 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene CLIC5 in humans. The gene may also be known as DFNB102, DFNB103, MST130, MSTP130, and chloride intracellular channel protein 5. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 46.5 kilodaltons in mass. The CLIC5 marker can be used to identify Podocytes and Alveolar Type I Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
