Anti-AMY1C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein amylase alpha 1C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 511 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.8 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is notably expressed in the pancreas and salivary gland. A member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 13 protein family, AMY1C is reported to be a calcium-binding enzyme that initiates starch digestion in the oral cavity. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include alpha-amylase 1C, 1,4-alpha-D-glucan glucanohydrolase 1, alpha-amylase 1, alpha-amylase 1A, amylase alpha 1C (salivary), and AMY1. Western Blot is the most common application for the AMY1C antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
