Anti-APOC4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein apolipoprotein C4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 127 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.6 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is notably expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. A member of the Apolipoprotein C4 protein family, APOC4 is believed to participate in lipoprotein metabolism. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include APOC-IV, apolipoprotein C-IV, and APO-CIV. APOC4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some APOC4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
