Anti-Amy2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Amy2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the AMY2A gene, which encodes amylase alpha 2A. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of Amy2 has a canonical amino acid length of 511 residues and a protein mass of 57.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the pancreas. This target antigen may also be known as PA. Some Amy2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
