Anti-ATPase copper transporting alpha antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ATP7A in humans. The gene may also be known as MNK, DSMAX, MK, SMAX3, copper-transporting ATPase 1, and ATPase, Cu++ transporting, alpha polypeptide. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 163.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
