Anti-HECW1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein HECT, C2 and WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1606 amino acid residues and a mass of 179.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the neurons of adult and fetal brain. HECW1 is known to be involved with the regulation of Wnt signaling pathways and protein ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase HECW1, HECT type E3 ubiquitin ligase, HECT-type E3 ubiquitin transferase HECW1, NEDD4-like ubiquitin-protein ligase 1, and NEDL1. HECW1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. ELISA is the most common application for the HECW1 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
