Anti-CTF1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cardiotrophin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 201 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.2 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, prostate and ovary. A member of the IL-6 protein superfamily, CTF1 is known to be involved with cell to cell signaling and muscle organ development. Synonyms for this target antigen include CT1, cardiophin 1, and CT-1. CTF1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of CTF1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
