Anti-CST2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cystatin SA. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 141 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.4 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be expressed in submandibular and sublingual saliva but not in parotid saliva. It is a member of the Cystatin protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include cystatin S5, cysteine-proteinase inhibitor, salivary cysteine (thiol) protease inhibitor, and cystatin 2. CST2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and rat species. A number of CST2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
