Anti-HEP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HEP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EPHB6 gene, which encodes EPH receptor B6. This protein is known to function in axon guidance and protein phosphorylation, among other biological roles. The human version of HEP has a canonical amino acid length of 1021 residues and a protein mass of 110.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane and is secreted of cells. HEP is a member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family.
