Anti-COL4A2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein collagen type IV alpha 2 chain. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1712 amino acid residues and a mass of 167.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. A member of the Type IV collagen protein family, it is known to be involved with pathways of aging and angiogenesis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage and glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ICH, POREN2, collagen alpha-2(IV) chain, canstatin, and BSVD2.
