In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 211 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is a member of the Cappuccino protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include BCAS4/BCAS3 fusion and breast carcinoma amplified sequence 4/3 fusion protein. BCAS4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
