Anti-NP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NPTX1 gene, which encodes neuronal pentraxin 1. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and nervous system development, among other biological roles. The human version of NP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 432 residues and a protein mass of 47.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles of cells and notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate.
