Anti-ACP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein acid phosphatase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 158 amino acid residues and a mass of 18 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Low molecular weight phosphotyrosine protein phosphatase protein family, ACP1 is known to act on tyrosine phosphorylated proteins, low-MW aryl phosphates and natural and synthetic acyl phosphates with differences in substrate specificity between isoform 1 and isoform 2. Synonyms for this target antigen include LMW-PTP, LMWPTP, low molecular weight phosphotyrosine protein phosphatase, LMW-PTPase, acid phosphatase 1, soluble, and HAAP. ACP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ACP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
