Anti-Glutathione peroxidase 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene GPX2 in humans. The gene may also be known as GPRP-2, GI-GPx, GPx-2, gastrointestinal glutathione peroxidase, and glutathione peroxidase 2 (gastrointestinal). Structurally, the protein is reported to be 22 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
