Anti-LAP18 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The LAP18 antigen is another term for the human protein stathmin 1, encoded by the STMN1 gene. The protein is reported to be involved in regulation of the microtubule (MT) filament system by destabilizing microtubules. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 149 residues and a mass of 17.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm and it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The LAP18 protein is a member of the Stathmin protein family. Other alias names for LAP18 include C1orf215 and Lag. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for LAP18 antibodies.
