Anti-AMTN antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein amelotin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 209 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.6 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Amelotin protein family, AMTN is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and phosphorylation. The AMTN gene has been associated with the disease, Amelogenesis imperfecta. Synonyms for this target antigen include RSTI689. AMTN gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of AMTN antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
