Anti-ESA1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ESA1 antigen is another term for the human protein lysine acetyltransferase 5, encoded by the KAT5 gene. The protein is a known catalytic subunit of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, a multiprotein complex involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H2A and H4. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 513 residues and a mass of 58.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The ESA1 protein is a member of the MYST (SAS/MOZ) protein family.
