Anti-EGP40 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the EGP40 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EPCAM gene, which encodes epithelial cell adhesion molecule. This protein is known to function in the regulation of cell proliferation and the regulation of transcription, among other biological roles. The human version of EGP40 has a canonical amino acid length of 314 residues and a protein mass of 34.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and colon. Other names for this target antigen include Ber-Ep4, BerEp4, and DIAR5. Western Blot is the most common application for the EGP40 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
