Anti-TTC17 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tetratricopeptide repeat domain 17. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1141 amino acid residues and a mass of 129.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in germ cells as well as in somatic cells of the testis. A member of the TTC17 protein family, TTC17 is reported to play a role in primary ciliogenesis by modulating actin polymerization. Synonyms for this target antigen include tetratricopeptide repeat protein 17 and TPR repeat protein 17. TTC17 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TTC17 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
