Anti-TRIM14 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tripartite motif containing 14. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 442 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles and mitochondria. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the liver; undetectable in skeletal muscle. A member of the TRIM/RBCC protein family, TRIM14 is known to play an important role in the innate immune defense against viruses and bacteria. Synonyms for this target antigen include tripartite motif-containing protein 14 and tripartite motif protein TRIM14. TRIM14 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of TRIM14 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
