Anti-ABO, alpha 1-3-N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase and alpha 1-3-galactosyltransferase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ABO in humans. The gene may also be known as A3GALNT, A3GALT1, GTB, NAGAT, and histo-blood group ABO system transferase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 40.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
