Anti-Vesicle associated membrane protein 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene VAMP2 in humans. The gene may also be known as Synaptobrevin 2, syb2, and VAMP-2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 12.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
