Anti-TYW1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tRNA-yW synthesizing protein 1 homolog. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 732 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.7 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the TYW1 protein family, TYW1 is a suspected component of the wybutosine biosynthesis pathway. Synonyms for this target antigen include TYW1A, YPL207W, S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent tRNA 4-demethylwyosine synthase TYW1, radical S-adenosyl methionine and flavodoxin domain-containing protein 1, and RSAFD1. TYW1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse species. Western Blot is the most common application for the TYW1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
