Anti-MGST3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein microsomal glutathione S-transferase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 152 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, and adrenal cortex. A member of the MAPEG protein family, MGST3 is known to catalyze oxydation of hydroxy-fatty acids. Synonyms for this target antigen include LTC4 synthase MGST3, glutathione peroxidase MGST3, microsomal GST-3, microsomal GST-III, microsomal glutathione S-transferase III, and GST-III. MGST3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MGST3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
