Anti-TAF5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein TATA-box binding protein associated factor 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 800 amino acid residues and a mass of 86.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the WD repeat TAF5 protein family, TAF5 is known to be involved with the regulation of transcription and protein phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include TAF2D, TAFII-100, TAFII100, transcription initiation factor TFIID subunit 5, and TAF(II)100. TAF5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TAF5 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
