Anti-RPL21 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ribosomal protein L21. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 160 amino acid residues and a mass of 18.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Eukaryotic ribosomal protein eL21 protein family, RPL21 is a known component of the large ribosomal subunit. The RPL21 gene has been associated with the disease, Hypotrichosis. Synonyms for this target antigen include L21, eL21, 60S ribosomal protein L21, large ribosomal subunit protein eL21, and HYPT12. RPL21 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some RPL21 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
