Anti-ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 4 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ADAMTS4 in humans. The gene may also be known as ADMP-1, ADAMTS-2, ADAMTS-4, A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 4, and ADAM-TS 4. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 90.2 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
